This textbook is required and will be utilized in both the lecture and lab courses.

Anatomy and Physiology I (BIO 110E/BIO 110LE)

In Anatomy and Physiology I (BIO 110E/BIO 110LE), an online biology lecture/laboratory combination course, you will explore the anatomical structure and physiological processes of the human body. You’ll learn anatomy and physiology from microscopic (atoms and cells) and macroscopic (organ functionality and bodily systems) perspectives. This self-paced course will prepare you to pursue degrees in numerous healthcare disciplines, including nursing, occupational therapy, pre-medicine, physical therapy, physician assistant studies, and acupuncture.

This course does not have any prerequisites.

MCPHS also offers Anatomy and Physiology II. Please visit our Anatomy and Physiology II prerequisite course page for more information.

Course Format

Anatomy and Physiology I (BIO 110E/BIO 110LE) is an online, asynchronous, self-paced course that includes both a 3-credit lecture session and a 1-credit laboratory session. This course does not have specific meeting times or deadlines. You will complete your assignments on your schedule over 16 weeks using Blackboard, an online learning platform. You will also have the support of an instructor, as well as 24/7 online tutoring as you progress through the coursework. After completing this course, you will receive a final letter grade and be able to request an official transcript from our Registrar’s Office. Please note: Students can register for the lecture, the lab, or both. Registration is separate for each of these courses.
