If a college’s admissions policy indicates that they accept scores from either test, you can be certain that the school does not favor one over the other. SAT and ACT Comparison
You can use College Board and ACT official concordance tables in the resources section below to compare SAT and ACT scores.
Key Considerations
When you use the tables, keep these considerations in mind:
- Note that a concorded score isn’t a perfect prediction of how a student would perform on the other test.
- Interpret concorded scores as scores with the same rank within a group of students who take the tests at approximately the same time.
- To avoid introducing errors, don’t use the tables to convert aggregate scores like mean, median, or ranges.
- Instead of making decisions based solely on a concorded score, use multiple reliable and valid measures.
- Don’t combine different section scores from the ACT and the SAT into a single superscore.
